Kyle Bass

Founder & CEO

J. Kyle Bass is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Hayman Capital Management, an investment manager of private funds focused on global event-driven opportunities, and the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Conservation Equity Management, an impact and natural capital private equity firm.

Mr. Bass is also the Co-Chief Executive Officer of the newly formed Rochefort Management, a private credit firm focused on the Critical Technology Initiative – a joint effort between the Small Business Administration and Department of Defense to attract private investment into technology areas deemed critical to national and economic security.

Mr. Bass is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the recipient of the 2019 Foreign Policy Association Medal for his responsible internationalism. Mr. Bass has testified as an expert witness before the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Senate, and the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission.

Mr. Bass has lectured on global economics, national security, geopolitics, and the architecture of the Chinese financial system at various universities, including Columbia, Yale, Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, University of Texas, and the University of Virginia. Mr. Bass is the former Chair of the Risk Committee of the Board of Directors of the University of Texas Investment Management Company (UTIMCO), which manages approximately $75 billion.

Formerly, he was a Managing Director at Legg Mason and a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns. He graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in finance. Bass is an Advisory Board member of the Hudson Institute’s China Center, an Executive Advisory Board member of the George W. Bush Presidential Center, and an Investment Advisory Board member to RIA NewEdge Wealth. He also serves on the boards of the Texas Wildlife Association Foundation, Texas Department of Public Safety Foundation, and Melinda’s Foods.

Paul K. Lisiak

Managing Partner & Chief Investment Officer

Paul Lisiak founded Metropolitan Partners Group in 2008 and serves as its Managing Partner and Chief  Investment Officer. Paul oversees the firm’s investment strategy and execution, leads the firm’s sourcing & research efforts and co-manages the firm’s growth. Over his career, Paul has completed over 175 transactions and deployed over $3.5 billion of capital in addition to engineering multiple corporate turnarounds as a principal. Before founding Metropolitan, he managed a venture capital strategy backed by the Man Group, where he also acted as interim executive for three portfolio companies. Paul began his career at Lazard Asset Management in the High Yield group. Paul graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and was an English-Speaking Union Fellow.

Paul is currently on the board of Presto Automation and Carnoustie Golf Heritage and Hospitality LTD.

Daniel Wilk

Senior Vice President Head of Private Equity Solutions

Daniel Wilk is a Senior Vice President and Head of Private Equity Solutions at Future Standard, where he is responsible for supporting investor diligence regarding the firm’s middle market private equity initiatives. He serves as a key resource for private equity across transaction types, including primaries and secondaries (both LP-led and GP-led), and direct equity co-investments. He also leverages expertise in digital assets, real estate, alternative credit and liquid alternatives.

Previously, Mr. Wilk was the Regional Director for Northern California, covering the major wirehouse firms, registered investment advisors (RIAs) and independent broker dealers (IBDs).

He received his BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania and is an Alternative Investment Analyst charter holder (CAIA).

Dan DeGrave

Executive Vice President of Operations & Compliance

Dan joined Waterloo Capital as EVP Operations and Compliance in 2025. In his role at Waterloo Capital, Dan’s primary responsibilities include enhancing compliance infrastructure, optimizing operational workflows, and supporting continued growth. Prior to joining, Dan held leadership roles at Vanguard, TradeStation, and other financial firms, where he managed compliance programs, supervised multi-site operations, and guided firms through regulatory responsibilities and process transformations.

Dan graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, is a certified Project Management Professional and earned several industry certifications throughout his career. Outside of work Dan enjoys tennis, surfing, skiing and being a dad.

John Chatmas

CEO (Waterloo Capital)

Mr. Chatmas previously held the position of Senior Vice President, Private Client Group, with Smith Barney in their world headquarter office in NYC during the early 90’s. In 1999 Mr. Chatmas agreed to head a team for Morgan Stanley’s Private Client Group in Dallas, Texas. In 2005 Mr. Chatmas founded Caddie Central Inc, which would become the second largest company of its kind. The Chatmas family ultimately sold Caddie Central to Troon Golf. In 2011 Mr. Chatmas assumed the role of CEO for Virtus Private Wealth. He then acquired the controlling interest in 2012 and rebranded the firm as Waterloo Capital.
